Biography

Bill Nicholson has 26 years of electric utility experience in power generation and distribution. He is currently general manager for distribution at Portland General Electric (PGE), where he has been employed since graduating from OSU in 1980. He is responsible for distribution engineering; new service design; and line construction, maintenance, and restoration for PGE’s 250,000 Western Region customers.

For the first 17 years, Nicholson worked at the company’s Trojan Plant, ultimately as manager for plant operations with responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the 1100MW Trojan Nuclear Plant. During this time, Trojan received the highest performance rating (SALP 1) awarded by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Nicholson is active in the community, serving on the boards of his church, Earth Advantage, Inc., and the Reed College Research Reactor Oversight Board.
